Talking to the cosmos....

"Throw your dreams into space like a kite,

and you do not know what it will bring back,

a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country."

Family First

A crazy phototastic weekend has me swimming in fashiony images.
But family first, and since we are so ridiculous there were just soooooo many...as I'm in all the ones below you may have guessed I didn't likely take them. Luna took some, Sam took some and the timer did the rest...

I actually really love that we have the same terrible face in the photo...

Can you tell how much I LOVE my lil lulu!!!!
Ok, now for a mass facebook post...a photographer's job is never done....

Nettie!!!

©Bernd Freundorfer

Two shoots this weekend-one with this beauty- and I CAN'T WAIT! I'm so silly giddy about them and the fact that my room is all clean and the excitement of a potential magazine project and maybe some other anonymous projects and books and...
I must sleep.
Nitey nite.

Deviating from what's ordinary, usual, or expected

Seriously, that's the name of the blog.
Deviating from what's ordinary, usual, or expected
And it is hilarious. Check it if you are need of a toggling of your daily life.
This is a little that I love...

It's the captions that really make them.
This one read "Just two guys doing the dishes."

Thank you again Heather for all the funky links you send me daily to lighten your cubicle existence...I can't wait until you are out of there, but I'll miss the constant skype links.
LOVE.

Get yourself out there

You want to grow in your art.
Get it out where it can be appreciated and let it work for itself.

ONE LIFE: An International Photography Competition
The password is ArtistWanted.

Tipped off by, yep, Artist Wanted.

Our Mission

Artists Wanted is a collaborative project between several New York City artists and creative organizations working to build new lasting opportunities for emerging talent. We have experienced first hand the difficulties in breaking into the professional art world and it is our mission to make this process more welcoming, dynamic and open-ended.

Hop to it.
And I'll give the posts a rest and do the same.

I am so lucky

I feel so connected to the universe.
All the souls I've had the absolute pleasure of meeting in my short life.
And once again I thank facebook and the world wide interweb,
for helping me keep in contact with their daily wit & masterpieces and loves & travels.
And I LOVE blogs.

© Wolfgang Kvietkus

There are two in particular that I want to share right now.
Stay at Home Dad
The laughter factor of the incredibly talented human being, Wolfgang Fitzwilliam Kvietkus, who is lucky enough to be married to my old friend Marisa, has started a blog. If his name doesn't make you want to check it out, don't, you wouldn't appreciate it properly.

Once you've wiped the tears from your laughing eyes, you will want to read the wit of
The Product of My Restless Mind
and it's literary talent, Gabby Bevel.

© Vanessa Rudloff

She was my victim for the latest spread in Norman Magazine (the new publication combination of Silk and Abner). Coming to a coffee shop near you. I think it's safe to say that Gabby is another reason why I am meant to be here, in the not so well known city of Norman, OK.

This post is to keep them accountable.
Reminding them that people are reading. And they want to continue to read the genius that flows out of their craniums onto their cyberspace realty.

And I hope their fingers continue to be magical.

Smiles and smiles and smiles for miles and miles and miles.

SMOLDER MIST

SPRING

FRAGILE

FLEETING

DREAM MOON

INDOMITABLE

JUURI

I can't believe my life sometimes. At the moment I actually have a headache from the heat radiating from my synapsis' firing. I don't think its healthy to be this inspired daily.
On my second coffee of the day (that could be part of the problem) I walked into Michelangelo's Coffee & Wine Bar. Micheal, the owner, said Vanessa you have to meet someone. Okay, sure. Of course, love people. But then he takes me next door to the kind of office entrance you skip over with your eyes and I meet Juuri. And behind her the latest paintings shown in Oklahoma City. I can't even put into the words the talent. These jpegs don't do them justice. And they are larger than life in person.
And then there is her blog.
That is when the headache incurred. Already inspired to the brim and her blog, inspiration on inspiration on true love on unfathomable inspiration.
Enjoy.

Jason deCaires Taylor

THE ART

THE EVOLUTION

Not just art, it's environmental.
With his work he is creating artificial reefs for marine life to live.
And I wonder how it is that we all don't know about this remarkable artist.

He is an environmental activist and his works speaks out on the inhumanities of "humanity".
Please check his site out. Everyone should.
Jason deCaires Taylor.

And as artists we always talk about "everything has been done" "so hard to reinvent the wheel"...
this work has blown me away.
