Tree Bookcase

I've been toying with a tree design for a bookcase in Luna's room. She could then have her books and her stuffed animals on display with easy access. I really want to make her one of those kid teepees too to put next to it.

All of these images below are Carpanelli designs. Oh my word how I feel in love with them! They are like modern Art Nouveau pieces. The craftsmanship, the ingenuity, the elegance, I even love the artwork in the show images, the pheasants and the black and gold cityscape. Look at the amazing stage set for the tree inspired bookcase below, I could do with a little less floor showing but it is superb.

Playing catch up is never fun. The past week I was once again in Saint Louis, this time with my mom picking up Luna for her first time back home in Oklahoma since her mom went away in August. My sister, Samantha, is Luna's mommy. She has been in Afghanistan and we hope to see her home within the next couple weeks.
She is going to be floored at the brilliant little girl that was once her bright-eyed, Luna.
Today Luna and I played Go Fish and she actually beat me.
This is a shot of the first night back in her own bed.
That is her doll named Mommy hanging off the side.


And we had an impromptu 10 minute dress up session today.
I'll post a few more shots tomorrow.


I heard that a three year old asks "Why" an average of 400 times a day...
I think Luna is a curve factor in that statistic. She's averaging about 650.
We watched Pocahontas today and I think I answered 400 easy through that movie.
Yet it spurred one of my own. WHY isn't Pocahontas one of the Disney Princesses?
She should be. She has a more philanthropic stance than the others, focusing less on her own happiness and more on the world. Um, hello, she should be our little lady's role model.
And she's beautiful.


Ok, I'm exhausted and must get up for another fun filled day with Lulu.

Oh a three year old's imagination.
Luna placed them all and I photographed them as is.
Luna is a dedicated mother, teacher, nurse, sister and best friend.
She lines her dolls up every morning serving pancakes or disciplining "NO BITING!" or singing them lullabies. But the best part about them is their names. Luna named every one and there is no changing it. My favorites are of course Orange, her oldest doll, named such since she could talk and Psycho Baby. Psycho Baby's demonic cry, gurgles and growls at the end of a long line of baby profanities.
Who needs reality tv with Luna to entertain you.
Soon she'll be home again you all will be sick of all the photos of her :)

Our dearest Luna is now two and a half.
My sister is preparing for another tour overseas.
My mom is living life, lovin livin.
Winston found himself a family that shares the love.

Luna is at the point she wants to take the pictures, tired of being in them, I suppose. Here are a couple she took. Hands free, I just provided a safety net for my camera :)

Illinoize....

Heather and I went gallivanting about the great Land of Lincoln this weekend. It was fantastic! We BBQ'd and 4 wheeled, congratulated a graduate and visited the French Consulate. And all the while I had my camera and I didn't use it once, the only photo I took, while my camera was conveniently MIA, was with my phone...it was the most peaceful, wonderfully inspiring sunset over a country field located in Heather's Aunt Kandy's backyard. How lucky is she!

I also feel motivated to upload more Heather photos for fun...





And a Luna photo because I miss her like crazy and she's coming to visit which makes the craziness crazier.
