Its a small world after all...

I just have to write a little something about the possibility of possibilities. Here I am catching up on some of my favorite blogs and The Little House in the City posts about Color Me Katie and it just makes me smile. Because we really do have the possibility to connect with like-minds so much more these days than before. We can spread our wings further and touch more. I've already posted a bit about the feeling of possibility I had in Seattle, it was like no one was beyond my reach, I could do anything I wanted and achieve anything I put my mind too. I believe myself to be a hard worker, I love what I do and I put my entire being into it when I'm doing it..yet, the Saint Louis scene seemed limited and had put a damper on my wings as if I couldn't fly where I wanted.

Sure I can. It's there. If you are thinking the same, you just aren't looking in the right places. Do things you love and you'll find others that love that too and the opportunities abound.

Ruche!

Geez oh pete! With a day to myself, I'm getting in a cleaning and shopping frenzy!!!! The deal has been made: I must clean the house (my room and bathroom especially) and I can reward myself with a little summer shopping. A very little. And if websites had instant gratification I would be buying everything Ruche has to offer me! It's like a wee cheaper Anthro and I love it! Just look at that outfit above! Okay, maybe I'll get a little something online to provide some added excitement later too.

I instantly fell in love with these earrings and they are of course sold out. They remind me of some oriental-style earrings my mom once had. Super fantastic.

A huge pet peeve of mine is not having the photographer credited near the photo. Then to be looking for their names and still not finding them frustrates me to no end. It is the same for both Ruche and these images...who shot them? Even with the websites getting the copyright their should still be a shout out somewhere.
On a less pessimistic note, it's once again beautiful outside, I'll be going on a hike later and it's the Cardinals home opener. Go Cards. Happy Monday to you all.

Dawn shines her light on me

Well my dear Dawn's nose must have itched when I was posting about Jamie (one of her favorite photographers as well) and she gave me a jingle. There is so much I have missed! Fortune has been smiling on her and showing her a new path. I'm so happy for her! Dawn Tunnell is an incredibly talented makeup artist in Seattle but her soul is not being properly fed there and it seems the NYC is calling! She just filled me with so much inspiration I had to share it, document it, to relive it and come back to it to remind myself later when it's faded a bit from my memory.
One must be in a place that feeds you a daily dose of inspiration, "not every once in a while or once a month...you need to be surrounded by people swimming at the same level as you...people following their dreams too."
I've found myself back in Saint Louis to save money for Europe (or possibly the NYC if I don't get my rear in gear). But it's been a crusher on my spirit. After Oklahoma I've been refreshed and I can finally see my goals, where I am and where I need to be. I used to see them all the time but they've been grayed out by the monochromatic landscape of winter here in Saint Louis.
Dawn also has a new outlook on life. "You only feel sad or upset because you let yourself feel that way." It's a mantra I've advised many times. Where was I to tell myself this past winter? Dawn began to look at the brighter side of changes in her life and look at the opportunities rolling in!
I wish I could quote her whole pep talk but alas I was concentrating on the whole of the message...get it or get out. There are places where one can thrive and some choose the less fertilized lives because of sacrifices for loved ones or jobs but the truth is that you should only be in a place that brings you the most joy and the most inspiration. I'm making the most of where I am now but I need to move on to be with my fellow fish.

Jamie Nelson

The work of Jamie Nelson...they feel appropriate for the day. It's gorgeously sunny outside.
I have always loved Jamie's work. She's vibrant and inventive. And she makes me feel like I can achieve my goals, as if she's a stepping stone, an example of success from the in between.

Right now, Karla and I are painting and such. I've actually started many too many art projects that have my living room looking out of sorts...one such project is cutting a tree root system off a big book cover with an exacto knife. It has taken us outside into the sun.

Rain

In addition, that piano piece is superb but even more dynamic with a background of Rainy Mood...both compliments of Liz's spectacular way of finding things. Thank you, Lizard.
