The Journey

Jen shot this at the monastery in Glendalough Co, Ireland. (btw, that's me)
She has been exploding with inspiration for her blog and constantly disappointed by our internet possibilities here. Tonight she was inspired anew and was able to snag enough internet for a fantastic narrative of our journey...she's a much better story teller.
An American in Paris...her blog...except the title's in French...just thought I'd help you out.
Keep your fingers crossed for more stories to come.
Bonne chance, Jennifer.

It's the little things...

Love this lightpost in Dublin.

Stained glass

Just your everyday shopping mall in Paris, Bob. This is in the Galeries Lafayette.

Which then reminded me that I never posted the images from Whitefriar Street Church in Dublin. It was next door to the hostel where we stayed.
Saint Valentine is buried here...as in Valentine's Day people.

Faces #3 Ye olde irish...

Skip skip skip to my lou...I apologize for flipping back and forth in my personal adventure chronology. I've tried to orchestrate this blog in a systematic manner but it's not my style and I just get backed up until it feels like a chore. Chore no more. I just put it up when it spurs me.
This gentleman was hanging outside the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. He was quite the talker but we didn't catch much. Some raving about Hitler and communists. You know, the usual.
Love that face.

The beginning

The thing that gets me over and over is the history of Europe. The locals talk in dates and events and every street has a deep rooted ancestry. It's truly amazing how young America is. Just yesterday, I compared the US to the angsty teenager, we think we know everything and we are so independent but we could learn a lot from our elders.
For starters and a little less controversial, impressive facades and doors. I can't get enough of the doors and statuary here. Everyday I'm walking around with my head swiveling. So much to take in.
The true beginning of my Europe photos is with The Brazen Head. The oldest pub in Ireland...established 1198!

This is the patio. Some happy customers, eh? The service was a bit wanting.
But we passed the time with Guinness and Guinness beef stew.
This amazing building below is across the street from the Louvre on Rue Rivoli...yes, we are getting close to Louvre photos...but look at how amazing this building is and right on a commercial street with residences and shops around...it is like that everywhere in Europe.

Okay, let the photo onslaught begin...

Two most adorable English girls ever.
Met them on our tour of Glendalough County in Wicklow, Ireland.
