Eddie Vedder Ukulele Songs

I've bought Eddie Vedder's new Ukulele Songs album. SO yummy.
The album is a piece of art too.
The cover art is by Jason deCaires Taylor an absolutely astonishing artist. Check out his site. Mesmerizing.

Photo and Sculpture, The Lost Correspondent by Jason deCaires Taylor

The Lost Correspondent

The Lost Correspondent depicts a man sitting at a desk with a typewriter. The desk is covered with a collection of newspaper articles and cuttings that date back to the 1970s. Many of these have political significance, a number detail Grenada’s alignment with Cuba in the period immediately prior to the revolution. The work informs the rapid changes in communication between generations. Taking the form of a traditional correspondent, the lone figure becomes little more than a relic, a fossil in a lost world.

The Vedder album is a finely printed book of photography and lyrics. It smells well printed. There is a smell that accompanies some publications and this album is scented in the difference. Much like Toast's catalogue and artisan magazines like Dansk. That's when you know they are good.
The photography of Danny Clinch is needless to say....solid. Well known in the music industry, his photography features the faces of music fame. Check it.

The album also featured photography by Sonny Miller and to be honest I can't clearly read the photographer of the waterfall images (looks like Stephan Mentil) and google doesn't seem to know either (that's a first).

Anywho, maybe tomorrow I'll post about the killer art of Jason deCaires Taylor...it's worthy of its own post showcase. But now, I must sleep.....................
Nitey nite.
